FIELD REPORT from HELP/Nepal (Kathmandu)

(Week 2 of April 2009).

1. HAMRO GHAR:

The Weekly Meeting for “Hamro Ghar’ staff members took place today on Friday, 10th April 2009 at 04:10 PM. Members present were Dipak, Sujata, Surendra, Kalpana, Sabitri, Shyam and Seema. The following are the updates:

Education: Children are regular with their routine and studies. The Herald School children are waiting for their Examination Results. The academic results for the H.G Children are ready.

Yoga and Maadal classes are continuing.

Food: Kitchen is maintained regularly. Children have their regular meals in the morning and evening, alongwith with regular tea and biscuits morning and evening.

Health and hygiene: Medical clinic reports that there were 11 children with common ailments.

• Now the children are more careful about personal health and hygiene.

• Paola provided the children 15 pairs of black shoes and socks, 5 bottles of hair oil, 3 dozen spoons and also the Water-filter for drinking water.

• She has also provided 3 shoe racks, 1 television rack and 1 kitchen rack.

Report:

Meals Medical Clinic

Total: 587 meals.

(I.e. Morning: 328 and Evening: 259 in a week).

Teatime: 320 cups tea consumed.

Treatment of 11 children: 5 children taken to Ramghat Hospital due to high fever. 1 child suffering from ringworm, 1 from boil, 1 from diarrhea, and the rest from cuts and wounds.

Ahead on the Agenda:

The dining table for the children is almost ready and all are eagerly waiting for its arrival. It would be there by this week.

Since it is Nepalese New Year 2066 this Tuesday, 14th April 2009, Luigi Sir wants the children to celebrate the special day with good food and socializing in H.G. All of us would be there too with the children, who can also invite their guardians if they wish.

When the school Children receive there Final examination results, we plan to felicitate the good performers and toppers, alongwith the Children studying at HG.

2. MISCELLANEOUS

Elisabetta and Sujata are still continuing their visits to the Samaj Hospital, New Baneshwor for Uterine Prolapse patients.
